Privacy Policy

Who we are

GAMED is developed by Ashkan Rezaei ("we", "us", "our"), an independent developer based in the United Kingdom. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the GAMED app.

The short version

GAMED has real user accounts, so the information below is stored securely in our database (hosted for us by Supabase, our backend provider) rather than only on your device. We use it solely to run the app's features, your profile, your reviews, your friends list, notifications, and so on, and we don't sell it or share it with advertisers.

Information we collect and store

Creating a GAMED account and using the app stores the following in our database:

  • Account details (your email address and an encrypted password, managed by Supabase Auth) for signing in
  • Profile information (display name, username, bio, pronouns, location, avatar and banner photos)
  • Reviews, ratings, tags, comments, and photos you post
  • Your favourites, Play Later list, and Now Playing activity
  • Your friends list, and anyone you've blocked or muted
  • Notifications generated by your activity and others'
  • Forum posts and comments you create
  • Any reports you submit about other users' content, and the item reported
  • App settings and preferences (theme, notifications, language)

We don't run ads and don't sell or share this information with third parties for marketing purposes. It's used only to operate GAMED's features for you and, where relevant (like a review or forum post), to show that content to other users the way the app is designed to.

Where your data is stored

GAMED's backend runs on Supabase, a third-party database and authentication provider that stores this data on our behalf under their own security and data-processing terms. We don't operate our own servers. Photos you upload (avatar, banner, review photos) are stored in Supabase Storage.

Game artwork and information

Game covers, descriptions, and related artwork shown in GAMED are sourced from publicly available data (such as Steam's public store listings) for identification purposes. Viewing this content does not involve sharing any of your personal information with the source.

Blocking, muting, and reporting

GAMED lets you block a user (ends any friendship and prevents future contact), mute a user (hides their reviews, comments, and notifications from your own feeds without them being told), and report content or a user you believe breaks our Terms of Use. Reports are stored with the reported item and reviewed by us to help keep the app safe; they aren't visible to other users.

Children's privacy

GAMED is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the app inappropriately, contact us at the email below.

Your rights

You can access and correct most of your information directly in the app (Profile and Settings). You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account, this removes your account and personal data from our database. You also have rights under UK GDPR, including the right to request a copy of your data, correction, deletion, or to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Contact us at the email below for any request you can't complete in-app.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Deactivating your account (Settings → Deactivate Account) hides it and signs you out without deleting your data, so you can pick up where you left off later. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as GAMED's features evolve. We'll update the date above when we do, and material changes will be highlighted in the app.
